Are people with Asperger's better than neurotypicals at understanding society?


The opposite.

Their emotional tone-deafness strips them of the ability to understand society’s dynamics.

Also, they are not emotionally neutral.

They are emotionally cauterized, which makes it impossible for them to be emotionally neutral.

This is because emotional neutrality consists not in having no emotion, but in aligning one’s emotional responses with concern for the welfare not just of oneself but of all parties concerned.

Emotions embody deep intuitive sensitivities both to one’s own, and other people’s, biological conditions. The idea that rationality is improved by a failure to emote falsely assumes that emotions are mere afflictions, as opposed to the intuitive awarenesses that they are.
