How does Nagel's free will differ from Stace's?

Stace is a compatibilist, meaning that he believes freedom to be compatible with determinism, whereas Strawson is an incompatibilist, meaning that he believes otherwise.

According to Stace, an act is free if it is caused by the right psychological and physiological mechanisms.

According to Strawson, an act is free only if one is responsible for the psychological and physiological mechanisms responsible for it.

Since this condition obviously cannot be met, Strawson believes that actions are categorically unfree.
