No, it is not. The pen is mighty only when functioning as an extension of the sword. In that capacity, the pen is indeed enormously powerful. But when the pen is functioning as an alternative to the sword, it is impotent.
There have been many great intellectual movements that did a lot to shape institutions and nations. But when this happened, it is because they were directing pre-existing forces, as opposed to just stating truths without having any cultural or social backing.
